Re: android 4.4 kitkat - k900

Hi Mak,  My option is that would be best if Lenovo stop work on 4.3 update for K900 and transfer work on Android 5.0.

As you know new Android 5.0 has battery optimization "Project Volta" and K900 is one of Lenovo Flagship phones so I think that it deserve to get Lollipop update. Smiley Happy

I Have this Lenovo Computers
1. Think Centre M58 from 2008 an it is still good (Intel Q9550, 8GB DDR3, Radeon 6970, Intel SSD)
2. ThinkPad E540
3 ThinkPad Tab 2 (with it I have many problems)
4. Lenovo Vibe Z2

Re: android 4.4 kitkat - k900

Veco,

Our development team has confirmed that update to 4.4 is not expected at this time for multiple reasons including some technical dependencies.   As many new phones have since come out, including logical successor to the K900, I would anticipate the focus will be on those devices that are shipping with KitKat and considering upgrade potential of some of those devices for Lolipop.

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht101396

For example:

Smartphone-ModelCurrent Android OSUpgrade Plan OptionRelease date
A5000
KitKat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015
A6000
Kitkat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015
P70-A
Kitkat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015
S90-A
Kitkat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015
VIBE X2 (Lenovo X2)
Kitkat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015
VIBE Z2
Kitkat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015
VIBE Z2 Pro (Lenovo K920)
Kitkat 4.4 Lollipop 5.0
Quarter 2, 2015

I would expect source code for 4.3 to be available at the time of the release, and hope developers in the open community may continue to develop on the K900 platform.

Best regards,

Mark

company is useless and i am sure they are not going to do anything. They can't even release a latest OS for K900 rest others has released for their devices at this price and configuration range. Very important Vibe is also by lenovo and availble for K900 on their web site and if you try to install it, it voids the warranty, what nonsense is this? another thing, you can't just install it. You need to be an expert to perform all those stuff....................................................I would not suggest this device to anyone now.

Pls don't leave just because of one inconsiderate remark.

Your contribution to this group is very valuable and well appreciated by many, though it is indeed a thankless job/chore you are doing.
