You guys just removed my whole reply!! So posting again.

 

IMEI Sent to you. BTW I have already sent IMEI to Moto_JM.

 

Today I will share the pathetic experience with Lenovo service centre.

 

As per Moto_JM's suggestion I visited SC and the service guy returned my handset within 30 min clearing the dust. But this was a temporary solution.

Again I visited SC on 21/12/17 and described whole situation. They examined my device and said "Camera Gasket" need to be replaced. But for that I supposed to deposit my device to SC along with a copy of bill. The replacement might take 7 days, but neither they would provide a device for temporary usage nor extend the warranty!!

The service guy asked me to remove my screen lock (don't know why, I don't have any software issue), and I deposited my device on 21/12/17.

Surprisingly, on the next day, i.e. 22/12/17, I got a call from SC saying my device is ready!! So I visited the SC and after receiving my device I saw a clean lens. I asked the service guy if any part was replaced, he replied "No part has been replaced, but we have done necessary adjustments so that you'll not face the issue again". At that time, I was feeling very good, coz I had used this device for capturing photos only for 7 days after purchase. Post 7days purchase, the dust on lens discouraged me from taking photos. For me it was a 14K device with no primary camera!!

 

Today I realised that the SC guy lied to me. The camera lens getting dust again. They just cleaned the lens and returned my device. But they did two other things: formatted all data of my device (don't know why) and updated date of purchase on Lenovo server. Now my date of purchase showing as 13/08/17!! K8 Note was first released in India on 18/08/17!!

 

I don't know what to do now. I got a mail from Lenovo asking my details so that they can resolve the issue. I have already replied. Let’s see what happens.

 

EDIT for Mods: Previously I attached my invoice, Service order and DOP as shown by Lenovo covering all the crutial info like IMEI, serial, mobile no, address etc. Don't remove post without examining.

Thanks Andy for explaining the spam filter. I thought my post was removed by Mods coz I didn't get any warning/error/notification from the forum about the removal.

I have experienced the same situation, Service Center people told me, they have to format the device. I dont know why they are trying to format the phone because it is a dust issue on the glass not a software issue. Can lenovo even explain this to us ??

 

I have a written document proof provided by SC people that for the dust issue they have to format the device. We need explaination

I have a suggestion for you. Please sell your device at half price and get Mi A1. It is really good as compared to Lenovo k8 note or plus. Because k8 series have a bundle of issues and the workers of this company are mad in my view

After purchasing a handset pricing about Rs. 14000 if u see dust is gathering in rear camera u must be very upset. I was very happy purchasing the phone having dual camera, but now it becomes using the phone without the rear camera. How the build quality is so bad in this price range of phones! I am very didisappointed Lenovo.
