if developer mode is on switch it off, and then try the steps again. System tuner UI will appear. You can turn on developer mode again. The battery % settings will remain.

Follow This steps for % battery icon :-

 

1. Pull down the notification shade
2. Press and long hold on Settings (Gear) icon on the top right until the phone vibrates
3. A pop up message "Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to the Settings! "will appear
4. Next, go to Settings -> System UI Tuner -> Statu bar
5. Select Battery -> Always show percentage

 My Lenovo k8 note is show the display system is not responding wait or close. When mobile is using too much of hanging and heating please solve this problem

Yes it's possible.

The simple Layman steps are:-

1. Scroll down status bar

2 Long press and hold Gear icon-

- A pop up will appear showing UI Tuner added to setting

3 Tap on Gear icon again

4 Tap on System

5 In the bottom System UI Tuner will appear 

6 Tap on System UI Tuner

7 Tap on "Status bar"

8 Scroll down to "Battery"

9 There will appear 3 options-(a) always show percentage

(b) show percentage when charging(default)

(c) don't show the icon.

10 Now it's your turn to decide.
