Hi Najeemfazil11,

I apologize if I haven't asked you this, can you please share more details on what's happening with your phone? As for the repair cost, if that's the cost set by our authorized repair center, unfortunately, I don't have control over that. But I can help you with troubleshooting in case we missed one we could still try.

Best regards,
Rich

Is every individual service centre has difference in pricing?

Re:K8 Note Motherboard Failure Issue

2020-09-25, 18:40 PM

I ordered lenovo k 8 note online 2 years ago. Now the problem I am facing is the mobile is automatically getting on and off.  Service center people know what the problem is and without even having a look at the phone just by listening to what I am writing they told me that I need to change the mother board. It will cost around 7,000 Rupees .

I have no warranty and not enough money to buy another costly smartphone. I had a trust on the Lenovo technology but now I feel cheated. When you people have found the problem it is your duty to fix it at your cost rather than at customer's cost.

If you can help me with how to get it repaired it will be a great help to me .

Re:K8 Note Motherboard Failure Issue

Last year my Lenovo k8 note motherboard went dead, I took it to the repair shop they asked me to pay rs 8000 for motherboard with one month warranty period. I told them I would buy a new one by putting additional 2000 rs. I did same . I still have the dead corpse of Lenovo k8 note left with me. I guarrenty that no one in India will ever buy Lenovo Chinese products. I also guarrenty that all those people who purchased any model of Lenovo may have suffer the same problem of dead mother board. I feel enjoying like when all Chinese items got banned in India. I don't understand why Lenovo a Chinese branded item is not banned in India . Rahul Sharma 9930315147

Hi Najeemfazil11,

I just got a confirmation regarding this. Parts and labors on our service centers are standard in terms of pricing.

Re:K8 Note Motherboard Failure Issue

2020-10-22, 6:29 AM

My K8 Note suddenly started hanging frequently.. When I switched it off but when I tried to switch On, The Home Screen was not going beyond Lenove Home page. I took it to the nearest Lenovo Authorised Service Centre. Upon inspection, they declared that the Motherboard is not working and the Motherboard needs to be replaced. There is no other issue at all.  it cost up to 8000. it is not with spending that money which is more than the new phone.

After coming home I tried to switch on, it hanged a couple of times and happen to do the factory reset.  It works some time hangs while the Lenovo logo is coming, what is the solution for this.

phone is out of warranty

Hi skanagarajm,

I'd like to confirm, were able to successfully do factory data reset? If so, please make sure you did not restore your backup/third-party apps. That's just one thing to try, but in this case, this is a hardware failure and the motherboard really needs to be replaced/repaired.

Re:K8 Note Motherboard Failure Issue

2020-11-27, 14:23 PM

I bought a Lenovo k8 note when it was launched. Last month it suddenly  stopped working. I tried to switch it on several times but there was no solution. At times home screen was appearing but it was only for few seconds. It used to show a black screen where in at one corner words Meta Mode were appearing

Finally I took it to a Lenovo Authorised service center in Rajaji Nagar. There the technicians checked it and said I have to replace the motherboard. They said that company is giving a discount of 50% on the motherboard and after the discount it costs ₹6500.

Is this a kind of cruel joke. I have paid 14000₹ for the mobile and now your company is saying motherboard itself costs 13000.

After going through the thread of the chat one can easily understand that almost all the Lenovo k8 note have this defect.  You have to accept it and get it repaired free. that's what the big brands are doing.

Please be customer friendly and get this problem fixed aa soon as possible.

Hope I will receive a reply on my mail.
