K8 Note The Time shown at the notification bar isn't the actual time

2017-10-04, 16:59 PM

Greetings. I recently bought Lenovo K8 note XT1902 and would like to get help on a weird bug.

The time at the notification bar doesn't change constantly, it changes after a specific intervals. Let me make it more clear by screenshot.

Restarting the phone hasn't helped. Its a week old phone so I hope I don't have to reset it. If it's a bug, I request you to patch this in the next Ota.

Thanks.

Hi Sumit_Dhiman,

Does the clock in the notification bar ever refresh? Or is it stuck on one time? If it does refresh, what triggers it (if you can tell)? Have you tried using a third party clock app? Are you using any kind of sleep mode on your phone as a battery-saving feature? Also, can you deselect the options to pick up time from the network and instead set it manually? Let me knows what happen.

Regards,

Venice

1. Yes it refreshes at specific intervals although I cannot tell the interval.

2. I am not using a 3rd party clock app- but I am using a 3rd party Pixel launcher. Does that make a difference?

3. You mean I should disable sync clock from the network? Please let me know where the settings are located.

Thanks.

Kindly disable the launcher for the meantime and use the stock Android Launcher of the device and observe. As for disabling sync clock to the network, go to Settings> Data and Time> Toggle off Automatic Date and Time and Automatic Time Zone. Then, set the time manually. Let me know.

Still didn't helped. I switched to default launcher and noticed the same issue again. It happens at 10 PM everyday for sure but I don't know it happens more than once in a day. Any other suggestions?

Try booting it to Safe Mode and observe. Press and hold Power button until "Power off" shows then press and hold "Power off" until "Reboot to safe mode" shows and touch "OK". Let me know.

Time shown in my Lenovo k8 Note in the right upper corner is not continuous. Sometimes it holds the same time for longer..  after phone lock - unlock only it refreshes.

Please find attachment and see. You could see different times in the notification bar and widget. The later is correct.

As you suggested, I deselected option " automatic time from network" and set manually. Still problem exists.

Clock in the notification bar is struck and stays at the sametime until we do lock/unlock the phone.

Kindly help to resolve this bigger bug.

As we tend to see time in the notification bar, our time flies but not in the mobile. Hence I faced lot of difficulties.
