I don't think performing a factory reset or calibrating the battery is going to fix this problem. I guess it's the poor optimisation of the software by Lenovo.
What happens when you run many heavy apps at a time consuming a high amount of RAM? Your battery starts to drain faster. Your phone heats up. And what would happen when you connect your phone to the charger leaving those apps running? The charging will become slow and your phone will start emitting more heat.
This is exactly what's happening after Oreo update, except that the RAM is being consumed by System instead of apps. If you look at the Running Services, you'll see that the RAM being consumed by the System is around 1.8 GB (sometimes even 2GB). On Nougat, it used to stay between 900 MB to 1.1 GB.

The phone charges at normal speed when switched off but will take 5-6 hours when switched on.

So, in my opinion, this is the only reason for the battery drain, charging time and the heating issues. The battery backup time has become half of what it was earlier and the charging time has doubled!

If you say about the Battery draining issues,The Enhanced 4g mode is the main cause here!!, I've noticed a huge change in this,

But , For users of Jio,They need to install Jio4gVoice ,That's all they can do if they want to Reduce the battery Draining

Solution; Turn off the Enhanced 4g Mode(VoLte),And use Jio4g voice

Also ,Users of MiA1 also have the same issues in the First update of Oreo,Like Battery Draining, issues with network,Many more

Something problem with Oreo only!!

A Very Good News to the users Suffering from the Notification light issues!!

we see many users Suffering from Notification light,Due to this many users also miss the WhatsApp Notification

Here's what I got for you!!

The App from Play Store;Front Flash Notification

By installing this application, as soon as you receive a notification, the front flash of your phone starts blinking as it were a notification LED.
It can be useful to all those (but not only) that have a device without the notification LED, but with the flash next to the selfie camera.

It also extends the concept of notification to the unread badges received from the applications (e.g the "Facebook like"). So, when an unread badge occours, in the same way as a "normal" notification the flash starts blinking and you will be notified of what's going on.
Various settings are also available to better configure the application to suit your needs.

It works on all devices equipped with a front flash, regardless of whether or not it has the hardware notification LED.
