AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre) Screen going crazy

Hi I wonder if anyone would be able to help me. I have an AIO 700 - 24ISH All in One (ideacentre). After the last Windows 10 update the touch screen went crazy! The only way I can describe it is as if you were running your finger up and how the right hand side of the screen constanly. As a consequence the computer keep turning randon things on and off as if someone were clicking on the screen. I have restored the computer back to the restore point before the update, but no change. I then reinstalled windows 10 from a backup recovery USB that I made when the machine was new... still no change. I have used the LENOVO self diagnostic tool and it says that there was no hardware issue, not sure that's right... So I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar before I pack it up and take it to PC world? Oh and of course it's 3 months out of warranty!

Cheers

Re: AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre) Screen going crazy

Hello Motherelmgrove,

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

If this is happening still after the reset, then it would indicate a hardware issue with the unit.

I would recommend, that you call your local Lenovo support line for a possible repair of the device. Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Thank you,

Yes I am informed that this is a known fault with this unit and subsequently it has been withdrawn. A real shame that it wasn't fixed before further units were sold, but that's business I guess. Thanks again.

Re: AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre) Screen going crazy

Hi

I have the same computer which upgraded on Monday causing the same problem. Its as if its constatly being pressed on the screen. I contacted Lenovo who said it could be static but tried the solution but didn't work. Levono said it might take a factory reset or need to be returned to Germany.

I kept clicking on the sign in box and every so often it would allow me to type one or two letters. It might take 20-30 attempts to do each letter but after about an hour I managed to log on. I went to the device manger (pressing windows and x at the same time) then Human Interface devices. Select HID Compliant Device/ Touchscreen. Right click then disable. This has now resolved the issue. Not sure why but after the update the camera stopped working as well.

Thank god it worked

Hope this helps

Re: AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre) Screen going crazy

I had exactly the same problem after the recent Windows 10 upgrade. However the problem had also arisen some months previously, and I discovered online that disabling the touch screen in Device Manager stops the erratic mouse. No one seems to know what is the root cause.

I assume that the recent Windows update reset the device manager. I disabled the touch screen again, and the problem went away.

Wish Lenovo would find a solution so that I can have my touch screen back!

Re: AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre) Screen going crazy

Thank you for taking the time to send a response.... I had to take my unit in and it had the screen replaced completely... apparently a fault with the screen it was just a coincidence that it happened after an update?!

This model has now been withdrawn, and from what we were told it was 50/50 whether the unit would have a new screen or be scrapped and our money returned.... it was just 3 weeks away from being out of warranty so be aware.

Thanks again

From what I've been told its a hardware problem and not a software problem.... you will need a new screen

Re: AIO 700-24ISH All-in-One (ideacentre) Screen going crazy

Hello could you post your PID codes for the Touch Screen Interface. I lost mines too and I am having a hard time locating the driver for it.

Right click start menu > device manager > Human Interface Devices > double click one of the touch interface devices and navigate to details > change the property to Hardware Id and let me know the code please and thank you.
