Re: two jmesoft hotkey*32 processes using ~1GB of Ram

Hello. I noticed my Lenovo all in one pc running slow the last few weeks, with high disk usage alerts, and when I looked in task manager there were two processes running from the jmesoft hotkey driver (hotkey*32) each running and using about 1GB of Ram combined. I just ended the processes and my computer started working fine again and disabled the program on startup. I scanned the jme folder and found no malware. The Lenovo keyboard that came with it had a broken key, a small problem, but we just switched to our old dell keyboard instead of fixing it. I don't know if this has caused some kind of issue with the driver. just thought I would throw this out there, also can I remove the program and still be able to use the touch screen and volume control/ input buttons on the bottom of the monitor or should I check to see if there is an update?

Re: two jmesoft hotkey*32 processes using ~1GB of Ram

hi rborcasurf,

Welcome to the Forums.

May I know the Lenovo unit that you use?

That jmesoft hotkey process is most likely tied to the Lenovo keyboard as some of its drivers are supplied by JMESoft. The application though is showing some signs of memory leak, which explains the high amount of memory usage.

You can safely disable this app under msconfig (press Winkey+R > type msconfig then navigate to the Startup Tab)or uninstall it under the Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs if you won't be using it anymore. This won't affect the touch functionality of your LCD screen asit uses a different type of driver. Ensure though that you make a system restore point before uninstalling the driver just in case.

Regards
