Universal BIOS Backup ToolKit 2.0

2013-08-13, 23:00 PM

I became interested in this utility because Lenovo does not offer the original BIOS download for my B575 laptop so, if you get into trouble, you are up a creek without a paddle. With that said, I found this utility that may be a life-saver down the road. Specifically, I was able to run it and backup my current B575 BIOS for future reference/need. However, I cannot guarantee that everything will work on the restoral end because I'll need another "undocumented" utility to make that happen (if needed) because Lenovo offers no guidance for the B575 in either the backup or restoral methodology. So, I have given (hopefully) half the solution. Now maybe someone can update this thread with the restoral methodolgy. Good luck.

You can use AFUDOS.exe, create a USB bootable and run command Afudos.exe Biosname.rom /o tu dump the Bios and Afudos.exe Biosname.rom /p /b /n /r

Read the help ensure that you maintain your SMbios data, see the help command, running Afudos.exe without any parameters.
