I have a B50-30 and sometimes it doesn't acknowledge keystrokes from my USB keyboard.
I have used the keyboard with a laptop and tried a different keyboard with the desktop. the problem is only evident on the desktop regardless of us keyboard (i am using the onscreen keyboard to type this).
The USB board will work for a while and then start missing characters, typically vowels (!). I have checked the ease of access options and everything is turned off including filter keys.
It is particularly bad at the moment, but might work for days at a time.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
If you have access to one, try to see if you can use another USB keyboard, or try using the existing one in another unit, this would help to rule out the issue with the board itself.
Otherwise, if it works, try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.
(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
