B540 BIOS System Information

2013-04-12, 15:05 PM

Yesterday I posted a message praising Lenovo's service on my B540.  My opinion has not changed, but I just noticed that when Lenovo's service tech replaced my motherboard, the new board's BIOS does not indicate my computer model or serial number, and while I can access the BIOS, I cannot change those entries.  Researching Lenovo's FAQs, the message appears to be that the system information in the BIOS can only be changed by a service tech.  It seems like extreme overkill for Lenovo to have to send a service tech just to enter the correct information on my computer.  Is there some way that I can add this information in the BIOS?

It's a bit odd it does not match ?

There is a new entry in the support section about "I'm getting "Error : Machine Type and Serial Not Found in IBase" I wonder if that has anything to do with it...

Just under where you enter your serial number !

Have you read my entry to your other post ?  Good news so far ....
