Change CPU FAN on IDEACENTER AIO 700

2019-08-21, 18:20 PM

Good evening everyone,

Possesseur of a PC IDEACENTRE AIO 700 from LENOVO and rather satisfied overall, I still find the CPU very noisy fan, especially when I read videos and sometimes when I just surf the web ... J So today I decided to go and see what is hidden under the hood of the machine to find the location of this famous fan. That's the beast:

This is the serial fan (ref: 00KT205) and I wonder if it is possible to replace it with something less noisy? Its shape looks rather atypical or is it only the case?
Maybe you will help me?

I thank you in advance...

Alex from France

Hi Bibou,

Greetings.

There are two discussions where fellow members share some ways on managing fan noise that you can try.

Topic 1 and topic 2

Update us how it goes for you.

Regards

Hello Spidey101,

Thank you for these links but it does not quite answer at my question because it is not about pc all in one like mine.

I have already tried a lot of options and do a lot of research, unfortunately this fan makes too much noise and his behavior is quickly carried away despite a good cleaning and thermal grease on the processor.

Regards

Hi Bibou,

Greetings.

Checking with parts lookup do not show any OEM substitute parts for fan replacement. In such events, it would better to work with a service center nearest you so they would be able to suggest other cooling options that would also fit the same sockets available for your machine.

I was not able to get any confirmed case of successful fan replacement for the AIO 700 within the Community at the moment but I would believe local tech guys would be able to suggest couple of alternatives.

Regards

It seems there is no inlet for the fan which maybe creates extra noise.

I thought of removing the heat sink, cutting a hole above the CPU and putting on a normal compact heatsink and fan.

But I see the heat sink also does the GPU.
