How can I check whether A300 supports WiFi 802.11n?

2010-09-09, 18:33 PM

Hi! My IdeaCentre A300 [MTM:57115581] was delivered in India on 1-Sep-2010. I was disappointed to see the configuration label on the box said 'WiFi 802.11 b/g'....what I expected to see was 'WiFi 802.11 b/g/n' because that's what is mentioned on the A300 specifications posted in the product brochure on various Lenovo sites!

How can I check whether this PC supports the latest WiFi 802.11n spec.??  Thanks.

A simple way is to connect to a 802.11n router and see what data transfere rate it reachs.

Best regards.

My existing ISP provided router is of b/g spec. I was planning to get a new router if this A300 built-in wifi supports the latest  802.11n spec. The label on the carton says 802.11b/g but I've read about the possibility that a driver upgrade or new firmware version could switch it to support b/g & n!

Does someone know for sure, has anybody tried it?
