IdeaCentre B540

I have an old IdeaCentre B540 I picked up at a yard sale. Can't get into the BIOS due to a password being set on it. I've taken it appart. What do I have to remove besides the battery to reset the BIOS? Is there a jumper or some pins to short out?

Re: IdeaCentre B540

So in following the link you kindly provided, it says "As long as you don't have an unknown HDD password set in BIOS, which you can remove should you have a known one, you could attach the hard drive to another system and copy your important files before running a recovery or a new installation." Do you believe this information to be accurate? What is the hotline number they refered to?

Thank you in advance!

Re: IdeaCentre B540

Hi @zeros1

It is better for you to check with the seller of this computer if he/she can help you out with the password. He/ She is the only best option you have when it comes to BIOS password, not unless you willing to replace the motherboard.

Anyways to answer your questions on your post:

Do you believe this information to be accurate? In a sense, Yes.

What is the hotline number they refered to? Lenovo Technical Support (877 453 6686)

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

Re: IdeaCentre B540

Any references for the schematic for the motherboard? Is it a B540 or something else?

Thanks
