Ideacentre 520-27ICB Back Cover

2019-03-19, 15:59 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to take off the back cover of my Ideacentre 520-27ICB (Model F0DE003LIX ). I have found the parts removal videos (http://download.lenovo.com/lts/RCDW1360/FOF/RCDW1360-AIO520_REM_FRU_02_BackCover.mp4) and read the hardware maintenance manual. In both, they say that, once you have removed the screws and rotated 90º the screw from the bottom of the AIO, the left corner of the rear cover will "pop up".

But when i try, the rear cover doesn'tpop up and i'm totally unable to lift it up.

Any advice? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you very much!!!

Greetings and welcome new Lenovo forum user from Spain,

When trying remover back cover the left bottom corner of the rear cover is not going to be that loose that it would just pop up and I sagest a light upward pressure with the screwdriver when the screw has made it to 90 degrees also may need something to pry up and separate the case such as a plastic pry tool like in the video to help.

Edit: To add, as can be seen in the video the demonstrator is using their left hand to brace the system at the time when unscrewing and begin to separate the case this would not only help keep the system from pushing away but also keep the cross point screwdrive in the head of the screw to apply the light upward pressure to persuade the csae to separate.

Hi,

I have the Ideacentre 520-27ICB and was looking to upgrade the HD to SSD too complicated for me!!! the video states removing 4 screws on the rear stand under the cover, can only find 3.. Inside the stand cover there is a metal bar with an arrow on it push this releases the dvd drive and there is a screw under there on the edge that you have to removed this one ( the dvd unit just pushes back in when putting back together) I believe to change HD you have to remove the screen and not back cover gently does it these screens are expensive.. Let us know how you get on.

Hi,

DId you manage to get the screen off in the end, looks very scary, saw someone on Youtube with one very similar, he was using a KNIFE to go around the screen. It is the screen that comes off and NOT the back cover yes???

Hope you are now sorted

Hi,

Just to say that is the wrong video, that shows 4 screws in the stand, the 271CB has 3 screws and one under the dvd, I would love to see the video for the A10 520 271CB!!! to change HD for SSD..

Thx Len
