Ideacentre AIO 300-23ISU WEIRD Screen Issues- Dark spot and Bright spot; Dim Screen as Well

The pictures show it. Some days the area on the right on is dark, sometimes it is bright.

The second issue is that the screen won't always come on as bright as it should. This always happens when the computer has gone to sleep, and when I try to wake it the brightness looks turned all the way down, even though the computer thinks it is at 100% brightness. 20171003_143238.jpg

Hello Kascott

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Definitely looks like it will be a faulty backlight, I would recommend that you get in touch with your Lenovo support line for a possible repair.

Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers
.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Yes, I did that, and Lenovo was very quick to tell me that I am outside of the warranty and there is nothing they can do.

Sorry to hear that.

In that instance, try these:

Try to download the Video and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page. Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.

If that does not help, then you can attempt to factory reset the device, if the issue persists, then it will confirm if this is a hardware fault.

Note: Please back up all your data as running this reset will delete any data on your machine

1. Turn the machine off and press the recovery button which is located usually next to the power button. If you have a desktop machine you will need to power the machine back on and keep tapping the F2 key.
2. Use the arrow keys and press enter on system recovery. ( Desktop users can skip this)
3. Select “restore from the initial backup” and then “Next”.
4. Click “start” and accept the warning messages.
Length of time can vary depending on the speed of the machine.

If the above doesn`t help, then you will either have to find and replace the part yourself, or visit a third party repair shop who should be able to help you out.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
