Lenovo C365 stuck in restart loop

2015-12-13, 11:58 AM
Hi guys and girls,

Okay so on Friday my C365 was installing 180+ updates from Windows Update but it was stuck on 152 of this for over 2 hours so I cancelled everything, yesterday morning when I switched my system on down at the bottom right corner it had something along the lines of restart and install updates which I did again, same outcome though.

I cancelled these and since doing that my system has been stuck with the following message on blue screen:

We couldn't complete the updates
Undoing changes
Don't turn off your computer

I've left this overnight so a good 7-8 hours and nothing.

I'm unable to access the boot menu to restart in safe mode, so wondered if anyone would be kind enough to help me out of this predicament?

It's Windows 8.1 just for the record I'm running.

Yikes, the update may have caused some issues to the hard drive. Have you backed up your data? It looks as if you may need to perform a restore or a recovery.

No data back up no, I had just successfully downgraded from Windows 10 using recovery discs back to 8.1 but will restore via them work when I can't get into boot menus?

Try pressing F1 or F2 once you start up the computer to get into OneKey recovery. If that doesn't work, Lenovo support may have better instructions.
