Speed Fan control required on AIO Ideacetre 510s - fans are on full speed

Hi,

It's brand new AIO Ideacetre 510S. Fan is all the time at full speed, regardless CPU is idle or working hard. It's very very loud. The only difference I can see is when GPU starts. It's even louder but in case of GPU - expected.

I cannot find any tool for fan speed control. There are some drivers called "fan speed control driver" on Lenovo site, but I cannot install them due to the fact it's not working on 64bit W10.

Hi raadoo,

Welcome to the community

Have you updated the chipset driver and BIOS? If not try that first and then try installing the fan control. I found it helped on the old model of the machine.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Speed Fan control required on AIO Ideacetre 510s - fans are on full speed

Thank you for hint.

I have updated BIOS and drivers and finally could install Lenovo Fan Speed Control Driver - Windows 7 (64-bit) but with no clear result. The fan is still loud and speed is on 100%. And I cannot find any control panel for this fan control application. Strange but how can control fan speed (forgive me this simple question).

Re: Speed Fan control required on AIO Ideacetre 510s - fans are on full speed

Bumping up!

My brand new Ideacentre 510s (bought two weeks ago, it's a new 2017 model) is literally ideal HTPC (and small home server) but except one thing - a small noise from fans running on full speed Smiley Sad It's noticeable especially at night time. Usually system temperatures are very low: mobo & CPU is about 84-86 °F, PCH Diode 120 °F. There is no reason to spin fans on full throttle!

Unfortunately Lenovo didn't provide any tool to control fans speed: no setting in the BIOS, no company utility, even SpeedFan can not detect a correct way to control fans!

But I believe, this task isn't a "rocket science" and Lenovo engineers can provide solution very quickly! We need just a small & simple utility, sitting in the tray, reading temperature sensors data and adjusting fan speed by simple linear algorythm!

Or, if you absolutely out of resources, please provide some specific thechnical data, how to control fan speed (I already know how to read temp sensors values), I'll write this utility for you and all owners, free of charge!

Please do something!

Thank you!

Re: Speed Fan control required on AIO Ideacetre 510s - fans are on full speed

I have an Ideacentre 720 desktop. In the BIOS settings the fan can be set to low noise, best cooling, or full speed. Maybe yours has a similar setting and is set to full speed.

Mine is set to best cooling and I only hear the fan occasionally on a long Handbrake video conversion.
