Re: 802.11n support?

Yes please fix the wifi issues associated with the pad, i am literally getting poor signal using a g router while being 10 ft away from the access point. The signal strength is apparent from pre and post update. This is bothering my efficiency to work at home and even at hotspots at starbucks and my neighbors location.

Re: 802.11n support?

I've had my K1 for almost a week, and I've had no problem with the G wifi at my apartment, but I haven't been able to connect to the network either at work or at my girl friend's apartment. In both cases it sees the SSID, but keeps looping "Obtaining IP address from ...". Even when I'm sitting right next to the access point and the signal strength is good. I'm running the 725-US release. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks Ari

since the 829 update, Are you still experiencing the Wireless N issue?

If so I can test this later myself. I have an N router and can switch it to N only.

I have a K1 at 829 and experience a slow down to about half speed. It can take 20 minutes or go for over a day before slowing down. A reboot gets it back to full speed. I have a Netgear 300 N router with good signal. We also have an Ipad and a t61p laptop with no speed problems. I bought this K1 on 8/06. It has had the problem since day one. I can't find any specific app or situation that kicks it off. Anyone else having this problem?

I have test version K1_A301_04_04_111017_US. And I also get the wifi issue as well.

Confirmed it last night. Its never connected higher than 30mb. As my T500 connects around 150mb and the A300 connects at 300mb. So something is definitely wrong here. I will let bloo know. Thx.

I'm not so much interested in the connect speed as the internet speed. I have comcast and get about 20 mbs and then it will slow down to less than 10 mbs. It will even go lower at times. Then a reboot brings it back to 20 mbs. I use speakeasy.net/speedtest to check the speed on different PC's and think it it may be a little high, but is consistent. I use their Chicago server for my tests.

My tablet also throttles my internet, watching clips etc...

My ISP Insightbb tried to say some tablets cause routers to slow down. I didn't believe them, but now might. Said something about settings on the router doesn't work well with tablets.

I will now call them back to see what they were talking about then.

I never had speed issues till around the times of getting the tablet. So its possible there correct.

If you are also having speed issues on your Thinkpad, then maybe you do have other problems. I,m not. I have an Ampedwireless repeater connected to my netgear router. It has the same problem while my laptop is working well connected to either one

Ok, I may have another issue then, because the other devices slow down. I thought the tablet was just an excuse for the ISP.

I've always had many devices connected, like a wii watching netflix, desktop watching youtube, hulu, etc..., and my laptop surfing or gaming all at the same time with no issues, 4-5 months, Now shortly after getting the tablet things start to slow down, netflix pauses a lot, so do video clips, and many disconnects from the online games. Maybe there's a new bandwidth hog that moved into the neighborhood or something.

But I will say it's some times hard to watch flash videos on the K1, as it does slowdown. It shouldn't be that slow, not on 10mb+ internet connections.
