829 update now available

2011-09-03, 4:09 AM
Got the 829 update and I notice a big speed improvement. It also looks like the chrome browser now defaults to desktop which is excellent. Will update about the issue about random reboots and the wake issue. Hopefully they have been taken care of with this update.

wow....that update was pretty bad for me...

upon first bootup a lot of messages saying that xxxx has stopped unexpectedly.

1. AccuWeather.com

2. Mizuu Movies

3. Documents to go

4. File Mgmt

5. Pandora

6. Lenovo IME, the msg for this one will keep coming back.  I needed to uncheck Lenovo IME in the input settings to stop it from showing the error message.

Can't open documents to go anymore.  Accuweather widget don't work. Some other widgets I've downloaded don't work......

Well the browser does not default to desktop as I thought so back to Dolphin for tab. I have had one reboot since this update. This may have just been from me uninstalling all the bloat. We will see though. I did not have any issues with widgets and applications not working since I did a full wipe for the update. Wanted to start fresh.

Is anyone else stuck in an endless download of the system update image like I am?  It has downloaded it 5 times now with no actual update being initiated.  Don't know what to do.  Suggestions?

On a positive note, all the apps that were crashing can be fixed by uninstall and reinstall.

Anyone from Lenovo have a release note for this release?

Yes I had the same experience. I ended up just shutting down the unit and the update started when I turned it back on. Maybe that's what caused the problems I'm seeing....I'm thinking maybe I should've just waited a bit longer

Yeah it was a bit disappointing....
Reinstalling documents to go works for me....maybe try clearing cache first and then uninstall? That's what I did with all the apps before uninstalling.

Thanks for tip on clearing the cache. I did that and reinstalled DTG and it works now.
