A1 - 2525_ROW firmware

2012-01-19, 2:25 AM

lenovo has released a new firmware.
It is A107W0_A234_001_014_2525_ROW.zip.
It seems that this firmware is based on 2493_SC.
fixed for the video and GPS.
US version has not yet been released.

This firmware has been added Japanese fonts.
But the Japanese are not displayed correctly because the font file name is wrong.
lenovo made a mistake.
/system/fonts/MTLmr3m.ttf is wrong.
Should be renamed to DroidSansJapanese.ttf.

According to someone on XDA, the Google Maps problem is still there (reboots after a short while when you use the latest Google Maps). Can you confirm that?

How about some of the other problems?

  • Upside-down video in Skype
  • WiFi-related reboots
  • No dictionary in the stock keyboard

I'm sure there are others I'm not recalling.

As I know, the changes in this ROM is mainly about the memory re-location and the GPS module power supply.

Since Skype is likely to force you to use the camera in Landscape mode, that's actually a feature.  In Landscape, the camera will be to your left and the 10 degree deflection will point it at your face.

Regarding the camera deflection: If Lenovo has indeed done this, it is just another poorly thought out modification. The shift should be dynamic based on the gravity sensor. In fact, adding an option to adjust it yourself would have been smart. I suppose that it exists somewhere in a config file buried in the OS.
