A1 Slate support

2011-10-27, 4:36 AM

Hello, i have been looking on the Support part of the Lenovo site for drivers and downloads relating to the A1-07 slate and there appears to be nothing there.

I purchased the tablet in china while travelling there, thinking that when i returned home i could install the US OS onto it and remove all the cinese apps that i cannot use, but i cannot find any information on how to install an english operating system onto it and the drivers and dowloads support section of this site is blank.

Can anyone direct me in how to go about doing this, because at the moment i cannot even acces the Android market place or any google applications!

Many thanks in advance

Tam

I also bought one in China. I found a update on this site, with google apps and market

http://download.lenovo.com/slates/a1/otatest/

Via settings -> About tablet under Build number you can find which versio you have.

I have A107W0_A234_001_003_2210_ROW, but cannot find now, but try A107W0_A234_001_002_2035_ROW.zip

Download the zip, put it on your sdcard and rename to update.zip
Power off the tab and then hold volume down and power button together and wait till the recovery mode starts. This will update your Lenovo.

For the drivers check

http://www.lenovomobile.com/lepad/Series_a/download/A1_USB%20Driver_20110816.zip
http://www.lenovomobile.com/lepad/Series_a/download/A1_adb_drivers.zip

To use adb you sometimes need to put de device id 0x17ef in adb_usb.ini

I also bought an A1 in China and have now updated to A107WO_A234_001_008_2375_SC, but I cannot download from the android market, which makes me feeling angry. Are there any ways to solve this?

My os is A107W0_A234_001_000_2035_SC. I downloaded the OS you suggested, but when i restart my tab into recovery mode i only have 3 options: reboot device, wipe date and wipe cache.

Im a bit worried about wiping the data because i cannot find out how to root android 2.3.4 so i cannont back up my os incase something goes wrong. Do i have to select wipe my data and cache before the install new os option becomes available?

There should be no need to wipe, it looks like it is not possible to change from sc to row with the same version...

Check this forum, there is a link to the international rom. Didn't try it but looks good.
