A1 Thick as a Brick

2013-05-25, 3:01 AM

That refers to me and my IdeaPad A1.  I was trying to upgrade from ICS to JB and made a rookie mistake....didn't plug it in.  Now, it will not charge or power on.  Tried holding the power button for 45-60 sec., nothing.  Tried disconnecting the battery and then plug it back, nothing.  Let it sit for 2 days and then plugged it in and would not charge, nor would plugging it in for a day.

I bricked it good!!!  Any thing else I can do or send it back?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Unclebark,

Welcome and Thanks for posting in the Lenovo Community,

And I’d like to ask you to try to recover the tablet back to the initial state by pressing on the power and the two volume buttons up and down together at the same time,

If you can see the menu to Wipe all data and restore default but all the data on the internal memory will be lost this will be great as we can try to recover the system back if still the same am sorry to confirm to you that you will have to take it to the service center:

Canada

IDEA-branded and
  B, C, E, G, H, K, N, Q, V, Y Series Products

1-877-4-Lenovo
  (1-877-453-6686)

Hope the information helps. Let us know.

Regards

Soha

Thanks for your response.

After trying to restart a few more times, including your suggestion, I brought the tablet back to my retailer.  They are going to try a factory reset and if that fails send it back to Lenovo.

I'll let you know what happens.

I just picked my IdeaPad up and am back in business.  Turns out it was a hardware issue....they replaced the board and away we go!!
