A2109 USB Storage transfer fails...

2013-05-27, 16:36 PM

Hello,

Hoping someone can help!

I just got my a2109 (yay! kinda...) and love it so far! I brought an OTG cable from amazon and copied files from it to the tablet easy using any normal file manager, and can even unmount.

Where I get stuck is when I try to trnsfer files to USB storage...it just says copy fail...is this not allowed on the tablet? Or Android in general? I'm hoping the answer isn't I have to root it to be honest...

I'm trying my best to replace my laptop as I only browse web and use torrents, so thought it'd be easy.

Greta tablet otherwise, wasn't very happy I suppose with the location of the microSD....

Thanks for any help!

Paul

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

I've looked under settings and the mount sd card option is greyed out, although i'm wanting to copy files fron the tablet to a usb device, the usb drives i've tested seem to mount correctly.

Thanks

Paul

How is the usb drive formatted?  If it's NTFS, the A2109 can only read, not write.  If it's FAT or ext3/ext4, the A2109 should be able to read and write.

Ah what a shame!!

Ok that'll be why then, shame as most files I want to trnafer are 4 -8 GB...I've found a workaround of using an SMB wireless connection into my router with the usb drive attached to it, but it's VERY slow. And it's N wireless...about 10-15min for 1GB, and that's sat near the router...wonder if a usb ethernet into the router would work...something to try!

Ok thanks!
