Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

2014-12-02, 9:29 AM

I solved my connection problems by buying a new Wifi router.

I have a Huawei HG655d router/modem (provided by my internet provider), which seems to give trouble for Android Kitkat devices (before the last firmware update it also had problems with Apple devices).

I disabled the Wifi part and connected a new TP-Link TL-WR841N Wifi router. This works like a charm :-).

Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

Hi, bought A7600 and updated it 4.2.2. Wifi stops working after certain period of time. Wlan icon disappears from the right upper corner. Wlan ap can still be found and wlan seems to be on. Can't connect to it for some reason. Wlan off and back on, after that I can connect to wlan and it starts working.

What's up with this? There seems to be no right solutions yet. I'm not going to buy new wlan router because problem isn't it.

I don't have the WiFi connection problems with a Linksys EA4200 v1 running DD-WRT.

I -DO- have the connection issues on a Linksys EA6500 with the Linksys firmware using WPA2 on the main network.

However the tablet will connect solidly to the GUEST network with no encryption. Which means the bug definitely lies somwhere in the WPA or WPA2 arena. Oh well, for now I can't use it to cast to my Chromecast (EA series GUEST networks require web-based sign-in) but it otherwise works fine.

Not really acceptable, but not really a good alternative. I make use of some of the android app features with my Linksys router and even if it did run DD-WRT solidly I wouldn't switch right now. Which sucks. But ... sigh ... whatever.

Lenovo ... this is your bug, or at least your WiFi chipset maker's bug ... old tablet yet still available for retail as of a few weeks ago at least. Fix it. After umpteen Thinkpad products I really expected better from you.

Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

Hi, I have a similar but a little bit other problem with A7, 4.4 tablet wifi. (all other device on same wifi network works without any problem)Wifi connection looks like that ok, status ikon shows that connection is good with router (tp link), IP, DNS, gateway are ok, data speed  between router to tablet is135mbps., but some apps can not connect to internet. Browsers works well so I can open whatever I want but youtube and googleplay apps does not see the internet. If wifi function switch off-on on tablet every apss works well again. After installed a free app, name is wifi fixer by zanshin my problem is resolved.

I hope it is help for you but I dont think that it is normal that I have to use a third party apps.

Have an A7600F running 4.4.2, having no issues. Connects seamlessly between routers in my house and office and even connects to the Sonos net no problem.

Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update (fix)

I had the same problem. I set my wifi DHCP settings to manual. Press your wifi network name then go to advanced settings DHCP and set to manual. Now your DHCP settings should be filled in automatically only thing you have to do is click save. I hope this helps. Will edit my post in a few days after using this fix. Happy Hollidays!

Re: A7600-F wifi problem after 4.4.2 update

What is going on Lenovo, i`ts 1.3.2015 and still no update to fix this wifi-issue. Do you read these posts?

My tablet looses internet after 5 min of watching Netflix, i´v tried the Wifi Fixer by Zanshin-g1 and other fixers. With wifi fixer tablet stays online c.30 min, then nothing. I have done factory reset, no help in there.

My router is D-link dsl-2680 and i have the following gadgets using it´s wifi: samsung trend plus, Samsung Gio, Xbox one, Xbox 360, HP Pavilion, Acer Aspire, Ainol novo hero and Sony Experia Z. They all have no issues with my router.

So could you please do either of the following

A) Fix the A7600-F Wifi driver

B) Give me full refund

C)Send me a router that works with A7600-F

because

a <- I´ts your job to provide a fully functional tablet, now is´nt it?

b<- look a

c<- it is not cool that i have to buy a new router just because your product has issues with my current one, look a.

As mentioned, I'm having no issues.

1. Have you checked to see that your router has the latest firmware?
2. Have you tried running the router on a different channel (11 instead of 6 for example)?
3. Have you tried NOT running the router in mixed mode -- instead of G/N, just N?

Here's another A7600-F with the same wifi problems. I can also verify that the problem lies within the wifi encryption, because I had to setup an additional wifi network and leave it open (no wep, wpa or anything to protect) to make the tablet's wifi work. The only "protection" I could use was using a hidden ssid.

In an open network the tablet's wifi works ok, but not perfectly. Web browsing and such works, but at least Netflix streaming seems to cause a lot of buffering every so often.

I also really hope for a quick fix to come very soon.
