Re:Android update roadmaps for Lenovo tablets and phones

2021-01-08, 12:54 PM

My Team develops Mobile Applications for Android/iOS and Windows. google have just advised us that they will no longer certify any new Apps unless they are compatible with Android v10+. I have quite a number of Lenovo devices in circulation in my customer base which have only just been purchased. Which means they will not be able to upgrade to  Android version 10.

I am sure there are quite a number of other Tab Ex users/customers that wont be very happy, since there is no upgrade plan for these devices which are running V7/8.1

I am referring to

TAB E8 / TAB 8 (TB-8304F, TB-8304F1) - Type ZA3W and
Lenovo Tab E10 (TB-X104F)

Are there any avenues to persue with Lenovo??

Re:Android update roadmaps for Lenovo tablets and phones

Hi, Was a list of OTA updates ever created ? I need this info for a TabM10 TB-X306F and can not find it anywhere. I have contacted LENOVO CS  with no help and started a new topic on this forum, no one seems to know! I am concerned that a new tablet is six months out of date on the security patch (July 2020). I need to know  If Lenovo has not released a update, or has my device missed an update. This info should be available and easily found, but it seems to be a mystery. If Lenovo has simply not released an update then there is no reason to download rescue and smart assistant tool and risk causing more problems!!! HELP ANYONE???

Hi Lenovo Manager and developer and guys fourm

Why don't you service Android Go phone and tablet? Why don't you let Android 10 Go or 11 Go update or security update receive

Nokia or HMD phones with Android Go allow Android 10 or 11 Go to receive security editions or updates,

then why do not you allow? Even you do not allow Tab M7 to receive Android 10 Go or 11 Go updates or security updates To receive?

Your matrix is obsolete. I have a Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F and your matrix says Android 5 is where the updates stop. Yet, I have Android 6.

Was wondering if I could update my Tab 2A10 70f to something newer too. Have Android 6.0 from last update but have found some apps not usable because the older versions are no longer supported. Would be nice to find directions, that are step-by-step for a "non-developer", to update, if possible. (Click on bootloader and open TWRP means nothing. Where is bootloader?)

Yeah, that's all we really need:  Something to download and a set of instructions on how to install. That shouldn't be too difficult to provide.
