Bug Report Google Music and a sleeping K1

2011-09-23, 15:56 PM
How does one go about making a bug report to Lenovo? Day old K1, if I run Google Music and let the tablet go to sleep the audio quits, it still appears to be playing, but no sound. Sound will not come back until I force quit Google Music.

Thanks for this.

We do know about this one.  Interestingly, it happens with Amazon Cloud Player as well, but does not happen with Winamp, so we're not sure yet whether this is strictly a power management issue or possibly that plus something funky in a playback API shared between Google Music and Amazon Cloud Player.

I've been needling development about this.  I'll needle them harder :)  In the interim, if you don't mind using Winamp, that's a viable workaround.

Edit: One other thing.  In my testing, I found I could typically restore audio if I pause the player for about 10 seconds then resume.  Does that work on your K1?

I was going to report similar.  I was on a plane and the music player was about worthless.  I would go to an MP3 album stored on the K1, and start playing a song (would hear music).  When it switched to the next song, it would go silent.. but the progress bar continued to move like it was playing.

Pausing does bring back the audio.

If this is any similar to phones, the wifi sleeps when the screen sleeps. But when I look into the wifi settings the same option to disable it from sleeping is not there. Maybe can be added with an update??

EDIT: lol I must have missed it when I looked before as on phones its in the advanced settings not on the main wifi settings, its already set to never. So not sure why internet stops when the screen goes black.

Ok, great.  Thank you for checking that.  I tested a beta image this morning and still see this problem so I will continue to "discuss" with dev.

Thanks again for the info.
