Why don't you post on xda-devs? I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people willing to help. But more important, people are going to search for custom roms for the a2109 on xda at first place. So, chances for professional help are bigger.

We don't have a forum over there. A mod recently posted the requirements in a thread, and we need more development products before we meet the standard.

It's really hard -- I'm not a developer.  But I know people are working on porting CM10 to the A2109.  I'm sure they could use some help.

There are two ways to port cm10, both has pluses and minuses, both take time, and desire, I have ported cm10 to several devices and honestly I don't like cm10 over stock. I only port cm10 for my devices that didn't have offical jellybean, this tablet has offical jellybean.

I have no interest in porting cm10 to a2109 so mostly likely I wont add anytime to this project. Anyway one can build cm10 from source, the second method is to look at cm10's that have already been ported to similar devices as a2109, get your sdcard parted and get to modify these ports to work on the a2109.

building from source takes a long time, porting from existing cm10 port's can usually be done much quicker, as you don't have to build entire system, you would only need to compile some files.

the two ways are.

1.build from source

2.modify existing cm10

I think you have found the root of the problem with those couple of statements. I have the time but not the desire besides something for the fun of it and currenty my wife is taking up all that extra time.. The current OS JB + magicdesktop is actually a very nice product.. I really do not see that many other good choices for a tablet OS at the moment. The fact that this tablet is rooted and deodexed means that anyone can customize it to all ends without CM10.

Really what someone should be working on is a standard themeing framework that could satisfiy all people and currently this is in a state of chaos. From what I see, miui and the hardware manufactuer Xiaoim will be be the first company to head in the right direction.

Anyway offtopic, sorry.

Unfortunately I have the opposite problem - lots of desire to do it (and some experience from porting CM to the A1) but no free time. I'm hoping to attack it a bit more after a paper deadline I have to meet (Jan 18th), so things should start moving again after that date.

I've built CM10 and am trying to apply the generated ZIP via CWM, I get the error "assert failed" and some stuff about how it can't find the build description or something. I've removed the assert(); line from updater-script and it installs correctly (I think), but it doesn't boot at all. it just goes to the Lenovo logo, flashes like it's going to boot, but never does. I've left it on overnight and nothing happens. (sorry if it sounds like I'm a noob, I'm very new to the Android world).
