Re: Development: Cyanogenmod 10 for the A2109

DBlake,

Did you wipe data/factory reset?

The assert failed because some of the props in the CM10 build differ from the ones in mcl630's CWM. If you use the recovery.img that gets built with CM10 you won't need to disable asserts.

Yes, I did a factory reset/wipe data. I actually didn't think to flash CM10's recovery.img. I assumed (bad on my part) that they were the same.

You might be able to discover why it's not booting by running

adb logcat

I'm wondering if it's having difficulty reading from or writing to the Dalvik cache - I've seen this occur a couple of times before.

well, using the recovery.img from CM10 was a bad idea. It's broken just like when CWM was broken when Lenovo released the JB update (cannot mount errors and whatnot). I think I need to downgrade to ICS, just can't find the ROM.

I don't have that file in my CM10 build. Did you mean in the stock ROM?

I meant the CM10 build, Sorry there was some file I had to remove to get it to boot. I thought that was the one but could not remember and I only have my oneCM10 bootable copy with changes made. Obviously, I can not help at this point. I am going to start all over in a couple of days and take some notes this time.

I got CM10 booting on the device. I had to restore all the way back to ICS so I could install the recovery. First impressions: it's laggy and System UI crashes constantly. I understand it's pre-pre-pre-Alpha quality as of right now, but at least it's a start. :D

Alright, good job. It sure is exciting till you get the UI crash. :( Anyway, if you have the time keep me informed if you make some headway or if you need anything let me know.

I'm still wondering why the UI is constantly crashing. As I said, I understand it's pre-Alpha, but I'd still like to get to the bottom of it. As for making headway, I'm not really into Android development as of right now (no free time). In the future I might.

EDIT: So, I've figured out why exactly SystemUI keeps crashing. Apparently, it's because eglConfig is not initialized.

Here's the full log of the error pulled from "adb logcat":
