Re: Dolby atmos tab2 A10-70F sound stopped again!!!!

2016-01-08, 17:53 PM

Screenshot_2016-01-08-17-55-18.pngAs I have indicated before, I was not having issues with Lollipop prior to this recent release. So Dolby was never a problem for me and works as expected without any crashes or sound weakness. After the update it still works and I am not having the problems others are listing. But again, I did complete factory resets, cleared cache, etc, before installing any version of Lollipop. I also removed all of the bloatware and unwanted applications that Lenovo provided.

Other than luck, the only explaination for the lack of problems is the complete reset and clearing of cache, and removing the unwanted applications and unneeded processes that Lenovo supplied. I am running as close to a pure Google Android experience on my Tablet as I can without rooting the device.

With all said, the Dolby experience for me has been really good for music and video.

This happened once with mine shortly after getting it and getting it loaded up with all my apps, personalizations/preferences and such.  After some Googling, I found a suggestion that said to clear Atmos cache/data and disable Google Play Music app so I did that, restarted, and it's been perfect ever since.   Luckily I don't use or need that particular app so I am OK with that fix for me and hope it can work for you too.

Make sure you have no other equalizers running as in meridian player for example. if so, factory reset and switch of ane other equalisers.

Personally I found the app totally confusing. I suspect that 90% of the problems with the sound are the fact that the app does not follow Android UI standards.

I bought my tablet 2 months ago and just totally loved the sound, but the volume was a bit high by default, so I created a profile to tweak it down by around 2 or so dB all across. But that alone took me half an hour to figure out. Is there a guide to how to use the app, or is it possible to get a version of the atmos app or link to a mixer that is Android UI standard built?

I love my tablet, but of the things that I found absurd, this sound app was number 2. (Number 1 was the fact I really needed to install the "Google Now" app.)

Hi,

This worked for me:

  1. clear cache of Dolby, Dolby Service and Google Play Music (in Settings -> Apps -> Running Services -> All)
  2. reboot
  3. launch Dolby app (now unlocked for me) and change the settings as required
  4. install a sound booster app (SpeakerBoost from Omega Centauri worked for me - check in Google Play) to enhance the sound volume - I've put max volume boost to +20% in the settings
  5. make sure the sound booster app is auto launched at boot time

Hope this help...
