Re: [HowTo] A2109 Fastboot

Cool, glad to know that is the bootloader!
Now if I could just get the fastboot driver installed.
I tried the fastboot -0x17ef devices command but it didn't work

Ok yea, I just checked it out and your tablet is in fastboot mode when you see that menu of items. So at this point you should be able to issue commands at the prompt, have you tried the this one.

"fastboot -i 0x17ef devices"

Not sure that works in windows or not, if it does not you need to get the windows xp fastboot drivers working.

In Windows it is simply 'fastboot devices'.

Look at the Device Manager and see what items have a question mark.  When you update the drivers for that or those items, try selecting the drivers you downloaded.

If I have MTP and USB debugging selected on the tablet, in device manager it shows - "? MTP"
I try to update drivers, point it to the A1 USB drivers and the Google drivers I downloaded yesterday but keep getting error - "This directory has no information about your hardware".

If I reboot the device into fastboot using cmd prompt, I get a notification in device manager for "? Fastboot"
I try to install the LeDrivers but no success... "This directory has no information about your hardware".
If at this point I type"fastboot" in the cmd prompt, I get no command or response.

Couple things,
If You see " ? Fastboot" then that is good and you want to start there to point to the proper drivers.

In your post you refer to "A1" drivers, we are working with the a2109 drivers which is a different device than the A1. Do you have the right drivers?

Right...as far as I know I have the right drivers. I downloaded the drivers from one of the a2109 threads.

Ok, well I am lost at this point as I do not have Windows XP. Hopefully someone else can get you going. Maybe you could post over at http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/lenovo-ideatab-a2109/

I seem to remember someone else having this problem and overcoming it. Have you searched this forum for xp or something.

Yeah between Lenovo forums and Android Tablets forum, I've been searching like crazy... I will keep at it though and maybe I'll try re-downloading the a2109 drivers and see if by luck that works!
Thanks for your help thus far though!!

Did you see the thread about the K1 windows xp drivers not working? In fact your problem may be unsolvabele so I would not go crazy yet, or already.

You may want to contact someone from lenovo to see if they even have any drivers that will work with xp.

No I haven't seen the K1 thread... I'll check it out.
Hopefully that's not the case, but I'll keep trying and see about contacting Lenovo about it too.
I'm installing everything on another XP machine I have to see if I can get it working on this one.
In searching the net, I've found that alot of people have had problems installing the MTP drivers for various different devices, some get it to work and some don't.
