I don't know what the big deal is here.  Would I like ICS?  Of course.  But I agree with a few of you here (who aren't screaming that the sky is falling) that I'd rather Mark and there team get it right and fix as many issues with ICS as they can before it is released.  I really enjoying using the K1 and it works great with 14_14.  If they never update it again or it takes a month to get ICS right, I'll be happy.  It's been a great device for the $300 I spent on it.  Hands down.  I would think of buying a lenovo product again.  A great shout out to Mark for actually posting things on this message board.  If you want to talk about crappy customer service/tech support then I'd agree if no lenovo employee posted anything and told you to fly a kite.

No upgrade. No OTA. No exact date. No apologies. No liability. So many "No"...

Mark,

Thanks for the update. When you look at the hundreds of posts in this thread, you'll realize how many people there are who are enthusiastic users of  your product. We're all looking forward to the ICS release.

I am one of the folks who would rather wait a few days for a good release that is well tested rather than get a half-cocked release that needs to be patched 3 times. Tell the devs and testers to take their time and do it right.

Thanks!

While Lenovo certainly has an obligation to release ICS since it was advertised when they were selling this tablet, I think the crying and bi***ing going on here is ridiculous. They have committed to releasing ICS, which is what we were asking for. They are testing the update to make sure that their (presumably) last update will work flawlessly. I am sure it will be available by the end of June. They are listening to user requests on a community forum, which they are not required to do. Frankly I'm happy with the progress being made here.

"No upgrade. No OTA. No exact date. No apologies. No liability. So many "No"..."
Yes, upgrade.
No OTA; if you read the thread you would see that this was known from the beginning, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why.
No exact date: True enough. Lenovo has given us a month to expect ICS in, just like every other company who has upgraded their device(s) to ICS. Which is very few.
No apologies: I'm not sure who exactly you expect an apology from. They're giving us ICS, I see no need for an apology other than for the wait.
No liability: For what? I am honestly not sure what you are referring to there.

I will now answer a few replies that I foresee from many of you.

>HURR DURR BUT THEY SAID JUNE 15 HURRRRR I MAD
June 15 was a tentative target date. If those of you who are posting that crap took the time to read the thread you would see that.

>DOESN'T MATTER LENOVO IS SH*T I BUY TRANSFORMER HURR
Good, do that and get off the forums please.

Thank you for the update, Mark.

Also, on an unrelated note:
Khanning, are you going to continue working on the CM9 port after this is released?

I'm anxious about the ICS update too, but let's keep it real.  The only benefit Lenovo has to making this update available is to build customer confidence that the products they purchase won't immediately become obsolete.  In an environment where folks preorder games/phones/etc. months in advance, a few days beyond a loosely targeted release date (no release date was ever officially set) does not even register on the technology timeline. On the other hand, if they make a poor update available and brick a bunch of tablets, all hell will break loose.

We should all be thankful that we're getting this update.  We bought Honeycomb tablets, knowing they were Honeycomb tablets, before any promise of this update was ever made. The fact that we can look forward to ICS soon is a great bonus.

If you can't wait for it or don't like how they're doing it, maybe try stomping your feet and slamming a few doors.
