Re: Ice Cream Sandwich for Ideapad K1

Wow that is not a good business practice. That's class-action lawsuit material right there. If you bought the tablet under the assumption that it could be upgraded to 4.0, as advertised....

Hey,

Let's not read too much into this - Looking into it now to see what I can find out about what was put on the web and why it was pulled back.  Could have been a clerical error being corrected.

The K1 and ThinkPad tablet had different code release paths..   K1 started with 3.1 and then went to 3.2.  Thinkpad team decided to skip 3.2 and go to 4.0.   The dates have moved around a bit - May still sounds solid for Think.

Idea has moved faster with more OTA releases.  I've not heard anything solid on ICS / 4.0 yet for it.

Good to know you are highly interested.

Mark

Maybe you have not heard anything solid on ICS, but it was clearly advertised as ICS was available for the K1.

Hope you understand the frustation of people regarding this fraudulent advertising.

Now that's funny !

It will be great if you are also able to put the ICS thing back on the website like it was advertised.

Why is it funny?

I like all other moderators in these boards am a volunteer in these boards, that means not employed by Lenovo, but I guess that wont come as anything new to you as you'll have seen this posted throughout the boards.  We work to keep this place somewhere where members can reasonably discuss their situations and concerns, ideally as if we were sitting across a coffee table, profanity or inferred profanity, does NOT belong and will NOT be tolerated.

Sorry, I am not personally in a position to fulfill your request to put the ICS thing back on the website.

If you should wish to discuss moderator decisions in a constructive and reasoned manner please post your questions in the Forum Housekeeping board.

Back to topic please.

Andy

Ok, I agree with you regarding the way people have to discuss with respect on the board, but as a K1 owner, I also understand the frustration of everybody here concerned by the fraudulent advertising.

Fact: False advertising is a really bad thing. False advertising is illegal in Canada, probably illegal in the USA too.

Never ascribe to malice what you can explain by incompetence.  I hardly think (so far, anyway) that Lenovo set out to deceive us.  (JMHO, YMMV, etc.)

It was deliberately put up and taken down. Putting something like that Removing it with that much importance it requires thought and purpose. How can that not qualify as being malicious? I dont see how can that be incompetence?
