I'm not sure about 1080p, because Netflix adjusts it's resolution based on bandwidth, but I am pretty sure I was able to get about 720p video at a hotel by using one of my favorite apps Wifi Kill.

Is WifiKill really useful? Don't users just log back on right away?

(I haven't tried it because I'm not yet rooted - waiting till after I've got a stable ICS running.)

THIS WEEK... NOT... this MONTH??... NOT!!... I just read an article that Lenovo's president is splitting his bonus with all the employees... For WHAT??... Not getting out software updates?

I wish it would happen, but empty promises and poor customer service have me thinking it will NEVER happen...

When was the last time the mark dude chimed in?.. A WHILE!.. and not update...

What a joke...

Well, maybe all of their efforts are going to the IdeaTab S2110 that just dropped onto the market...

Heh.

You know, I really thought it would be out by the end of July. Original target date was "mid-June". Of course, as Mark has told us, it takes them a week or so to get the web page up. That's gone by; over a month since the target date went past. Now they're working on getting it Google Play certified (if I understand it correctly). I want a solid release as much as the next guy, and I like to think I've held a modicum of patience, but I'll be really dissapointed if we don't see this upgrade by the end of July.

I find it very useful in certain situations. One of my main reasons for even being rooted. I'm not too familiar with how it works, but my understanding is that it blocks a device IP address from accessing the router.

Personally, I can attest to being at a hotel and my youtube buffering every 5 seconds, then after wifi kill I could stream anything perfectly: youtube, netflix, etc.

Off topic, but neither amazon nor netflix is streaming at 1080p. 720p is all that's available now, but it's coming.
Thanks,
