Re: Ice Cream Sandwich for Ideapad K1

The K1 is a great tablet, and HC is a great OS, but ICS is the here and now and as a developer it's good to have that. Unfortunately I don't have the money for a good phone with ICS,

@ Bro trust me I am running the best build available. The tablet and the support have been horrible though you may not see how we can say it it's what we think. You are happy with the product buy all means buy another one.

I primarily wanted to mitigate the word "horrible".    I would say they are below average, but horrible means the bottom of the list for me.   It is true that if I could turn back time,  I probably opt for a tablet specialist such as Asus but at the time I purchased my K1 (feb 2012),  299$ was the best bang for the buck since equivalent Asus with 32Gb of ram was 150$ more.   Starting with this assessment,  I recognize having purchased a price.    Therefore I assume it and mitigate my comments.   Do I expect ICS?   Don't get me wrong I chose K1 based on the upgrade engagement of Lenovo too so I'm very sad at this time.   I just get a little annoyed when I encounter overreating people.    As an example,  if you once read TripAvisor comments,  some hotel qualified as "hell" were not that worst once in place.  It is just a matter of your own emotion.    You must mitigate your comments to better enlight you co-readers.

less than 4 pages until my prophecy is fulfilled! :D

still no formal communication or announcement regarding the ICS release, status, or progress. if you were holding your breath, now would be a good time to stop. :p i'd bet they have one (already overloaded) developer looking at it in his/her spare time.

i wonder if, during all of this time, the pages, legal notices, etc that needed to be assembled and prepared for publication before a release could occur, were actually completed.

captain negativity, OUT!

Guys I really think they are close, I just have that gut feeling that tells me we can expect it before the end of this month.

Been following this forum for almost 2 months now checking every few days to see if/when the update is coming out. I think it's safe to say that Lenovo does not have anyone working on the K1 ICS upgrade. If the ThinkPad has already come out with an update a month ago then ICS for the K1 should have been available almost immediately after. I'm going to assume now that Mark will never respond to this forum again and that the K1 will never have ICS. Best advice, don't buy Lenovo. Their priorities are in China not the States...

On that note, would anyone like to buy a used Lenovo K1 32gb with case? $200.

Maybe they will surprise us and have a Jelly Bean update for us instead of ICS.  :)

I hope Lenovo sees this, but I doubt it since they never seem to hear waht we are saying!!!

The original message was written in 2011 and we're still hanging here waiting...

Based on the support record of the K1 tablet I will not be buying any forther products from your company. You have treated us like an unwanted step child. If you are just in it for the quick hardware sale , why would I want to remain a customer. Too bad too because I was just about to buy a U4xx, but not now. I will only give my business to a comnpany that will support me just like I supported them with my money!. Don't forget that I will also be telling everyone I know iun Silicon Valley the same thing...

Have a nice day :smileymad:
