Ice Cream Sandwich

2011-10-19, 19:15 PM

Mark or JameZ,

Will there be any problem with Ice Cream Sandwich update on the K1. Please tell me there will not be any limitations or restrictions to getting this update or any mods/customization from Lenovos end to the UI?

ICS is Android 4? I am still waiting for 3.2. 4 looks pretty good but I need the stability of 3.2 NOW! Then I can afford to wait for 4...!

Yeah I want 4; I know 3.2 is fail because of all the customizations for me so if I can skip and have the original OS I have no problem doing so!

Excellent idea. I too would prefer a stock release!

Only a handful of Android tablets have 3.2 at the moment. The Asus Transformer and the Xoom for sure (maybe some oversees). I'm assuming that Lenovo will be rolling out 3.2 before the holidays (hopefully).

As for ICS, probably be at the end of the year or early next until we see released it for Tablets. As far as I know the Galaxy Nexus phone is the only device that will be released with ICS and that won't be out until November/December. So I wouldn't hold my breath getting anytime within the next month or so.

Actually the Asus Eeepad Prime has been announced for Novemeber with ICS on board. You may have heard this is the tablet with the Kal-El Tegra 3 processor. I think we will see it on tablets really soon.

Ah OK, I stand corrected then....But as far as the K1 I hope Lenovo is hard at work getting ready to release ICS for us. Would be a nice early holiday present!
