There is a Wifi+3G K1 in the works but no model number or pre-ordering information is currently available. With the exception of the 3G module it is identical to the 64GB K1.

The space for 3g is there, but the units they sell here in the US do not have it populated.

I did see some on ebay that claim it is wifi+3g though...

The K1 has a 3G ready motherboard, but does not support it. I'm not sure if it will either. That would be up to the Programmers.

I just chat with the people of Lenovo Sales and they told me that the 3G model was coming out at the end of October or first days of November.

I am about to get a K1. I also noticed the sim slot and space for 3G. So if the K1 can't do 3G now, will or can there either be a hardware or software upgrade for it?

Hi MrPeter1985, I was wondering,... you said that the k1 has a 3g ready motherboard..

I have a question.. If buy this article ThinkPad GOBI 3000 Mobile Broadband (Part number: 0A36185), do you know if this works with a lenovo ideapad k1?

I really couldn't tell you as it's not fully supported yet, sorry.

As others mention, it will be available at a later time.
