K1 car adapter

2012-05-26, 7:24 AM

I don't think I ever saw one of these on lenovo's website.  And, since I bought my K1 in December 2011

I have looked through E-bay for one.  Usually, E-bay has a flood of adapters from Hong Kong for

every device imaginable. BUT, they did not have one for the K1.

I just saw some posted on E-bay for $9.99. I dunno if it will work but I ordered it anyway.

Anyone else been looking for one and might have found one?

Please let us know if it works. In a pinch, I just use the stock power cord and a power inverter.

I got it in about a week ago.

It surprisingly DOES work!

Although it seems to charge slower than my A/C wall adapter does.

Thanks for the info. I have also looked to ebay for accessories for our **bleep** child of a tablet and wondered if the car charger worked.

You talked me into it!  We use the K1 to listen to downloaded podcasts while traveling, and so far the battery has held up well even for long trips (as long as you turn the screen off).  But I thought it would be a good idea to have one in case the battery capacity starts going downhill, or if I want to use the GPS capability, or just to keep it charged.  Thanks for the tip.

Received my car charger from eBay, $9.59 including shipping, not a bad deal.  It works, although it's interesting that when you plug it in (and the tablet is turned off), the "% charged" screen does not come up briefly like it does with the AC adapter. Nor does it come up if you briefly press the power button.  I'm guessing there must be another signal on the AC adapter connector that gets pulled (grounded?).  Anyway, when the tablet is turned on, it does indicate the charging status and the battery life goes up, so I know it's working, and that's good enough for my purposes!

Yup, mine did the exact same thing.

At first I assumed it did not work because the K1 was off and I plugged it into the car adapter

and nothing happened.....

So I turned the K1 on and looked at the charge indicator and it showed it was charging.
