Re: K1 not booting after update

2011-10-07, 12:40 PM

the install.bat did ot work for me I received a constant error with some searching it seems the .cfg file that install.bat uses does not have the boot loader password. I used the install_fuse.bat after placing the K1 into APX mode by pressing both volume buttons and the power button, then releasing the power button after the LEDs next to the home button light up.

Some times you receive a message that the USB device is not writable you will have to power off the K1 and repeat the procedure. On occasion there is a message "Wait 30 seconds for system reboot." I just power off the K1 and start APX mode again and the flashing process starts.

Came after the upgrade:

Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)

Unsupported menu option selected: 1

After a few clicks of the button when you turn the volume + and on, the machine stopped included.

Does not boot after update

Is there a way to download the update from a computer? After downloading updates a K1 produced a set of messages and closely enforced, and though I do re-plant may help to pave, but to re-receive these messages when running the device.
Menu option is not supported selected: 1
Unrecoverable error bootloader (0x00000002)
Model: 20115

I'm wondering if I can repair the system and whether Ran explain the process of restoring the operating system
And is the latest I can through the memory card or through your computer please reply fast
Best regards

As I understand it will help only to Lenovo Service Provider. While Lenovo did not lay out a program for Flashing  via usb.

I have a similar K1 which I bought yesterday. After switching it on it searched for update which I accepted to install.
Brick!
The problem still affects users and there seems to be no easy way to recover.
Lenovo should offer a solution online, and withdraw the bad OTA update still in circulation!
I was lucky I could return the unit to the store and get an exchange.. Kudos to Virgin Megastore.
I really want to understand why this could happen and what lenovo will do to prevent it on upcoming releases. I really look forward to the ice cream..
I really like the K1, a bit heavy though..

The new Slate looked like this:

Android 3.1
2.6.36.3
K1_A310_02_02_110822SG

I Selected Swedish language, which displays fine.

It forced after an hour:

K1_A310_03_03_110927SG

I tried to do a clean shut down after the update to avoid bricking one more K1, but alas one more brick.

It seems this 03_03 release is causing all the troubles.

I may return the K1 to the store tomorrow again as the user experinece with Levovo K1 has been really dissapointing.

I fixed the repeaded problems with Lenovo K1 by replacing it with "Ipad 2".

I hope Lenovo will get their act together in 2012 using Ice Cream Sandwich.
