LENOVO IdeaTab A2107A-H - Has it a Compass???

2012-12-08, 0:42 AM

New to tablet and Android...

Can anyone tell me if any compass apps works on this tablet?

All compass apps downloaded are stuck. Even Google Sky stays locked although up and down is working.

I have tried figure of 8 movement which fixes most compass calibration issues on other machines but nothing.

Has it got a compass fitted?

If so what or where to I go to get it to work? Have I got it set up wrong? Simple instructions would be useful...:smileywink:

Google maps & GPS are working fine.

Thanks.

I have solved my problem, it doesn't...

Here's my review on the Dabs.com website:

NOTE: This is my first tablet/Android device.

What I think is missing from the sales details are quite important and very hard to find until you have the product in your hands.

Here's what I think needs telling:

A big bonus with the A2017 is it does have WiFi AND 2 sim card slots, one shown as 3G/2G and the 2nd as 2G. Also a space for a microSDHC card. These are hidden under a cover around the rear camera.

Although it has the 3G this is for data cards, it is not a phone. You can use Skype however.

Between the 3G and GPS this unit is excellent when used with Google Maps. Works just with GPS but the map is basic.

I have marked it down a star because it doesn't have the following sensors:

Orientation
Proximity
Temperature
Gyroscope
Magnetic
Pressure

So no compass apps and Google Sky will not work fully because the Accelerometer only allows up and down! BIG LET DOWN, just as well the GPS works so well... It has light and sound sensors.

Will replace my laptop on holidays nicely :)

Hope this helps anyone who might be thinking of getting this tablet.
