Lenovo A3500-F help needed

2017-02-18, 16:22 PM

I am not very computer literate and need some help. I have a Lenovo A3500-F android tablet which I am in the process of selling but I need to delete all my personal information from it beforehand. How do I do that and when I have done it do I need the factory pin to access the tablet again? i no longer have the instructions booklet so can't check in there.

Hi micksmith1950,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

You can just perform a factory reset by following the instructions below.

Note: Some setting may vary depending on the age of the tablet.
  • Go to Settings  > Backup & reset
  • Touch Factory data reset
  • Touch Reset tablet
  • If your tablet is password protected, you'll be prompted to enter your Pattern, PIN or Password
  • Touch Erase everything to confirm

Alternatively, follow these steps:

Press and hold the power button and the plus volume. You will need to continue holding this until you feel a vibration. Once this happens release the power button but carry on holding the plus volume key. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark. Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press Power to select it. Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press Power to select it.

Let us know how you get on!

Thanks for the advice. I cheated by geting a friend to sort it for me today and he did it some fancy way by deleting individual programmes (something like that I think!!). Anyway, all my personal stuff is now off of it and it's safe to pass on. Thanks again.
