Lenovo A3500-FL problems after upgrade to 4.4.2

2014-08-17, 15:09 PM

Hi,

Just after unpacking my new Lenovo A3500-FL I've entered my wifi password and received a notification that new firmware (4.4.2) is available (so wifi was working!). After downloading 1.1GB of data it was installed, device rebooted and.. now I can't connect to any wifi :( it always says "authentication problem". I've tried few access point, different passwords etc (my other devices are working properly). It sees AP, allows me to enter password, but it does not connect. Also GPS is not working and who knows what else..

How to fix it?

Now my new tab is just useless without wifi since there is no 3G modem inside :(

Any ideas what to do? Downgrade to 4.2?

Regards! (And hope to receive a fast answer... ;)

check the channel your ap is on
it should be on channels 1 to 11
also, it is useful to reset your tablet to factory default state after updating

Generally speaking, the update to 4.4.2 caused a problem to my tablet's wifi too. But it's a different one. Without any disconnection from the access point, the device loses access to the internet every few minutes which disrupts video/audio streaming.

Hi there. Similar problems here. Tried everything.
Is there any possibility to obtain the previous stock version of Android? The 4.2? Or downgrade somehow?
Regards

I have the a3500 fl tablet for a week. Out of the box I have got directly an update. This update was about 1.1 Gigabyte. After installing the update I couldn't find my GPS FUNCTION anymore in the menu !!!! I hope Lenovo will fix this with an update. Not happy at all.

Hi,

Also I have just bought A7-40 (A3500-FL), but not upgraded yet from Jelly Bean 4.2 to Kitkat 4.4.

People has reported problems (at least GPS missing, power consumption increased) after upgrading their tablets. Does anyone have a well justified opinion that would it be anyway worthwhile to upgrade the tablet to Kitkat, or leave it as it is now?

Are there any benefits using Kitkat instead of Jelly Bean?

Regards, Marko
