Lenovo P11 Pro Stylus

2021-03-02, 13:51 PM

Hi,

Which lenovo pens work with the P11 Pro?

Just the precision pen 2 or the active pen 2 also works?

Thank you.

Welcome to the Community Forums @ FilipeFonseca84!

Glad to have you here!

Upon checking on the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro's specifications, it says in there that the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 will work with the device itself.

As for the other pen(s) like the Active Pen 2, they should pair/connect with the device however, it will just work as a stylus.

It will just imitate or mimic gestures when a finger is placed into the Tab P11 Pro's screen itself.

You may also check with your local service providers or shops if they do have the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 in stock to use it for your Lenovo Tab P11 Pro.

Thanks,

Adriel_lenovo

Hi Adriel,

Thank you for answering, but as a Support Specialist can you give me a definitive anwser?

I know it will probably work, but will it work?

If so, what does this mean, "It will just imitate or mimic gestures when a finger is placed into the Tab P11 Pro's screen"?? What's the diference between the two??

Thanks again

Thanks for responding FilipeFonseca84!

It says on the device's specification guide that the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 is the only pen that will work with full features on the Tab P11 Pro when paired.

Others like the Lenovo Active Pen 2 should connect or pair with the Tab P11 Pro but, chances are it might just works as a stylus. That means that you can only use the Lenovo Active Pen 2 as a pointer for hovering and it might not allow you to use it for like drawing or writing.

Thanks,

I can’t comment personally as I haven’t used (or researched) active pens. This YouTube review talks a bit about active pen support though (some other active pens do work).

Hi,

I've got the Precision Pen 2 which is the only active pen officially supported by the P11 Pro as far as I know. I'm not sure what pen communication standard the P11 Pro uses so its difficult to know what other active pens might work. Active pens generally have lower latency, better accuracy/sensitivity, buttons on the pen that activate functions on the tablet or in apps and in the case of the Precision Pen 2 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. You also get a small round pointer when you hover the pen over the display.

The precision pen 2 is pretty low latency, though not as responsive as my daughters iPad Air pen. What I have noticed is the latency depends on the software, so for instance in the App 'Concepts' it is much lower latency than in some of the other apps.

Hope that helps.

Hi, I've seen that video. I just wanted to know if those other pens work just as the precision pen 2 would. Thank you for your help.

I just purchased an Active Pen 2 for my tablet.

It connects for 2 seconds and disconects.

I suspect now its only for Windows devices.

what a pity the lenovo store is so confusing that we end up making expensive mistakes trying to figure out accessory compatibility.

Perhaps Apple products are worth the premium after all

You're probably right...

And the worst, is that the costumer service won't help you either. They don't know...
