Lenovo TB-X505F - Internet Connection Problems

2021-03-09, 14:40 PM

Hello everyone.

Pretty new on foruns (actually the first time I post something on one), but I need your help.

I just bought a Lenovo tablet (TB-X505F) for my daughter.

It happens that while she's attending her class on Zoom (home-school), the connection is constantly being interrupted (the image freezes until connections establish again).

That is a constant thing happening.

With other devices like my Lenovo Desktop or my iPad on the same network wifi, that simply doesn't happen.

I don't think its an "internet" problem since with every other device I don't have any problem...

Saying that I was hoping to find some help on eventually some configuration changes on the tablet to help to solve this.

Thank you very much!

Luis

Welcome to the Community Forums @ Raamos10!

Nice to have you here!

Does the issue also happens when using other apps(s) aside from Zoom?

Check first if there's an available update for the Zoom app through the My games & apps section of Google Play store and download/install it to the Tab M10.

Also, please see if there's an available update to the machine as well.

Please click on this link to see the steps on how you can check or update the Tab M10 successfully.

Another thing to try from here is to reset the Tab M10's network settings (if it's available).

To do that, go to Settings > More > Network settings reset > Reset settings, tap it to confirm action.

Restart the device afterwards then test it again.

Thanks,

Hi Raamos10,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There's not much troubleshooting steps to be done on tablets, but below you'll find the usual steps to try and remedy issues with Android systems:

Try a Network Reset of the Device to see if it can clear up any issues.

Enter Safe Mode with networking.

If the device drops here as well, then it's most likely not a software/driver/app issue.

Firmware/System Update - Check for new updates to the device. Old firmware can quickly cause incompatibility issues.

If the firmware update does not solve the issue, try a factory reset of the device.

Factory Reset
 -Ex: Power On Mode
-Ex: Power Off Mode

**NOTE: This will completely reset the device to factory settings. It's recommended to backup any important data before proceeding.
This can be done through the Rescue and Smart Assistant for Android Phones and Tablets or by connecting the tab to another tablet/PC/phone/SD card/External Storage.

Rescue and Smart Assistant

Regards

Voithos

Thank you for your reply.

It happens with zoom or messenger when on video calls.

I checked already if the apps were updated and it looks like.

Like the android software as well.

Thanks for the update @Raamos10!

Try to uninstall/reinstall those apps then test them again.

Also, I would suggest to connect the Tab M10 into a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue will occur even if other devices works/connects fine on the network that you're currently using.
