Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 10" Tablet WIRELESS DROPS OUT!

2015-11-28, 4:32 AM

I bought the

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 10" Tablet

It updated to android 5.1.

I am sitting with the tablet about 500mm away from my wireless router and the tablet tells me I have an excellent connection?

My tablets wi-fi keeps dropping out all the time and is becoming unusable!

Is there a fix for this please?

If not, I will be returning this POS to the retailer tomorrow for a full refund.

Re: Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 10" Tablet WIRELESS DROPS OUT!

Please look at the other threads in this forum for information on how to DOWNGRADE this tablet to the stock 4.4 android firmware, that's the only fix I am aware of and trust me, I've looked.

I bought two of these (A10-70L) and I loved the tablet. I, like you, made the grave mistake of "upgrading" this to Android 5 and it became a useless piece of crappy garbage. Wifi dropping out every few minutes is just totally unacceptable and there's other problems too.

I learned how to downgrade the firmware to stock. After first making the mistake of doing it with a 10-70F (the non-4G version) firmware I eventually got the stock 10-70L firmware on it, then I updated all the 4.4 updates and got root (kingroot) and just deleted the Lenovo update tool ensuring that it'll never "upgrade" again and now this thing just works perfectly.

My advice: Take the time to learn how to downgrade it because it is (in my opinion) a great device with 4.4.

What I do find quite unaccelable is that this WIFI-drops-all-the-time-after-upgrade issue was first reported here and in other forums right after the "upgrade" became available and there STILL ain't no fix for it. It's not like Lenovo don't know about it. It is also quite rude of their customer "support" to just say "well, it's not our problem that you installed our upgrade and ruined your tablet". Perhaps they are not legally responsible in China or some place like that but here in the EU they clearly are.

I looked at the instructions on how to downgrade, I could not understand them.

I am going to return the tablet for a refund.

FIXED !!!!! - Re: Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 10" Tablet WIRELESS DROPS OUT!

2016-02-04, 17:09 PM

After placing a call to Lenovo Customer Support (three calls actually...)

The fix:

1.  Turn off Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70F.

2.  Turn on Tablet while holding power button and Volume UP button.

3.  Keep holding buttons until a screen with plain text comes up (text was blue and red )

4.  Use volume up/down buttons to navigate to "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" Option. - Press power button to select.

this leads to a few more self explainatory continuation buttons.....

My tablet eventually came back with nothing on it but a plain version of Lollipop 5.01 that does not lose WiFi.

Hope this works for others.

Is the fix still working?  I want to try it and wanted to check with you first before I wipe everything from the tablet.

I followed Factory Reset process you described and now everything seems to work fine.  No more wi-fi drops and even fixed the staticy sound issues.  The only difference I noted was that there was a screen before the "reset" that asked if you wanted to do a "restore" - this then brings you to the "reset" screen.  Thanks.

BTW - if you run the "Dolby" app and flick the equalizer bars to the highest setting - you fix the low volume problem.

I am 99% sure that WiFi problem is not related to the hardware.

After lengthy and numerous trials, I figured out that the problem can be solved by WiFi signal booster. Just found it on Google Play and install.
No more wireless drops out. I have a stable internet connections.

Lenovo, please fix this problem in communication module!

It sounds like Lenovo is a poor choice; I did 2 factory resets andafter a while, the same problem; unable to go on line via Wi Fi, reoccurs. I am an occassional user in any event.Contacting Lenovo is so bad news; Lenovo left me a phone message saying they would call back-but didnt! On line chat with the Help Line is equally poor. my item had the problem whilst in Warranty but the same fault reoccurs eventually when out of 1yr warranty. What does this say about Lenovo??

The factory reset does not fix this problem.
Last update ОТА (A10-70F_20160505) also does not help.
WiFi booster fix the problem!

I have had the same problem since update approx 18 months ago.

Wi-Fi is connected, but no data.

Only fix is to turn off/on Wi-Fi then normal connection returns.
