Re: Lenovo Tab 4 8 plus major issue - micro SD corruption

I re-format my SD card and it worked fine for a while and then corrupted again. Hopeless. I don't really expect such a low level tech problem with a tablet phone....

Hi,

I got my Tab 4 8 plus 4/64Gb tablet and was very impressed. Unfortunately, there was a MAJOR show stopper. I worked with Lenovo tech support without much success so had to return it.

The problem was that with each turn on or reboot (not an awakening from sleep) the micro SD card would be corrupted. I tried two brand new cards. A 128Gb and a 32Gb one. The last one I bought as the only suggestion tech support could come up with was to try another card.

I must say that tech support could not be faulted. I was very impressed.

I will wait a while and see if others have this problem or not. I will definitely then buy another one, unless Google brings out an 8 inch tablet in the meantime.

Cheers

Im having the same issue it has now destroyed 2 Sandisk Extreme 64GB U3 V30 certified A1 cards. Is there any news on when this will be fixed? or eaven how to fix the cards? They come up with no data at all so I cant even re format them on windows. :manmad:

Re: Lenovo Tab 4 8 plus major issue - micro SD corruption

I retried for a second time (see above) with a very fast one (95MB/s read - 80MB/s write), already mentioned in another post Toshiba THN-M401S0320E2 32 Go EXCERIA PRO M401 Carte MicroSD..

And miracle, this one works since 3 days. I have tried to stop / start the device multiple times, no corruption anymore. When I start the device there is still a temporary message saying that there is an adopted storage card  in an unsupported format but the message disappears as soon as the device has completed its boot.

Why is it customers who have to spend their time to try to find a good SD card and not the supplier support team? Strange way to have a positive experience with your products.

Rgds, Philippe

They probably just don't have a drive letter asserted by Windows. Try to do this yourself by using the Disk Manager that is included in Windows.

Yep already tried this it appears but says no media so can't create partition. I have tried everything to getting it going again but it's gone, also haven't had any response from support yet.

I was looking for a good-premium Android tablet. Do not want to go to iPad.

Tab 4 plus was my first selection in the list. Mainly because of the microSD card support.

Reading this significant issue, I am holding back. This is such a major BUG that should have been identified before the product goes for sale.

And it is such a surprise that no one from Lenovo hasn;t made a comment for a potential fix.....

Tab 4 series is very good with good specs and it could be a very good opportunity for Lenovo to take some of the sales pie....but with their execution it looks that they do not reallly care....

I know that I am not giving my money to Lenovo at this point...
Needed a good Android 8 inch tablet but Lenovo's QA is not serious....
