Lenovo Tab Extreme not charging or powering on

My tablet was working fine and running low on battery one day and completely not responsive the next. I wanted to plug it in to charge since I assumed it ran out of battery but nothing was showing once I plugged my cord in, no charging animation nor the vibration of it being charged. I have done this many times before, letting my tablet run out of battery and then charge it when  I need to use it again but this time nothing was showing on the screen. The charging cord is working fine with all other devices and I tried multiple other charging cords and still nothing.

Current issue: Not charging and not powering on

Troubleshooting methods attempted:

  1. Press and hold the power button >20secs, nothing
  2. Press and hold the power button and volume down button >20secs, nothing
  3. Press and hold the power button, volume up button, and volume down button >20secs, nothing
  4. Changing charging cords, nothing
  5. Keeping it plugged in for the whole day, nothing
  6. Connecting it to my PC and see if it detects the tablet: the device manager keeps refreshing but no detection of the tablet
  7. Tried many local tech service centers, but none of them can service it.

Only got this for less than 2 years and they said I have to send it as a billable request since the warranty is expired. If anyone has ran into this issue before, how much would this cost to fix? Any other method I should try?

Re:Lenovo Tab Extreme not charging or powering on

Hi Yingmaster,

Welcome to the Lenovo Community!

I'm sorry to read about the issues you're experiencing with your Lenovo Tab Extreme. You've already done a great job troubleshooting the problem. Here are a few additional steps you can try:

  1. Check the Charging Port: Ensure there is no debris or dust in the charging port of your tablet. Use a can of compressed air to clean it gently.
  2. Try a Different Power Source: Sometimes the issue might be with the power outlet. Try plugging the charger into a different outlet or a different power strip.
  3. Access Recovery Mode: See if you can still access the tablet's Recovery Mode by following the steps in this video guide. From there, you may perform a factory reset on the device to see if it'll fix the issue. However, please note that this will erase all data that's stored on the device, so make sure to back them up regularly.

Let us know how it goes. We'll wait for your response.

Thanks,
Adriel_Lenovo
