Lenovo Tab P11 not booting up, hard buttons command don't respond

2021-03-03, 19:33 PM

Hi All,

After only one month of using the Lenovo Tab P11 the tablet is not booting up anymore.

I was using the power off/on on schedule option and after one night of reading, tablet automatically turned off, but did not turn on again the next day. After pushing the Power button, logo appeared but immediately vanished, after several times I've tried hard reset by using power button + volume keys, but screen doesn't respond at all.

Only when first plugged it shoes battery pictogram 100% and vibrates, and immediately fades away, any combo of pushing buttons is non responsible.

Would like to factory reset it before returning it, as I'm still logged in on all apps personnel and work.

Anybody else had the same problem, any suggestions?

All the best,

Cris

Thanks for the update @ Cris Ian!

Great to know that the Tab P11 is now booting up!

However, it would be still advisable to have it be brought to any local service providers near your area so that they can inspect it and see if it needed repairs as well since the Power button itself isn't responding or working properly.

Hope this helps you out.

Thanks,

Welcome to the Community Forums @ Cris Ian!

Nice to have you here!

Try to perform this steps in performing a factory reset if your Tab P11 is unable to power on:

  1. Ensure the device is turned off and not connected to any charger.
  2. Press and hold the correct keys to start the device into recovery mode. This varies from device to device. Normally there are three key combinations to enter recovery mode for Lenovo android tablets:
    • Volume Up + Power
    • Volume Down + Power
    • Volume Up + Volume Down + Power
  3. Navigate to Wipe data/factory reset or Reset factory
  4. Press Enter. Factory reset will start automatically and wait till it finishes

If that will not work, you may also download the Rescue and Smart Assistant tool using a Windows PC/laptop and re-flash the Tab P11 from there.

Should the steps above didn't worked, you may bring the device to any local service providers near your area for them to inspect the machine as this may seem a possible hardware concern and may require repairs for it to work/function properly again.

Hi,

The Rescue software did the job, managed to enter safe mode and reset all. Thank a lot!

Seems there might be a mechanical issue with the Power button connections, as not is not responding, screen is always on, and to awake only double tab works, also out of the blue it randomly gives the option to shut down or restart, similar to having a long press on the power button, although the button is not touched. It still gives that good pushing feed back and clicking sound.

Rgd,

Cris
