Lenovo Tablet issue with apps running in background mode

Hi Community,

Running a main App. which uses another app as a print utility. I open the utility app and minimise it, then run my main app. After a couple of minutes the utility stops in background mode and the print jobs queue up. When I bring the utility in session from background it then starts the printing from the utility. It is as if the utility is asleep, even though it is minimised in the background. Is there a setting on my Lenovo TB-X104F tablet to keep an app running in the background? I have removed both apps from battery optimisation and run the Smart Assistant app to check for a ROM upgrade, but the problem still exists. I hope someone has had the same issue and can provide me with some guidance.

Thanks for your advice and quick response. Unfortunately the model I have is the tab E10 TB-X104F and it doesn’t have a tablet manager App. and I can’t locate the memory usage area in settings. Unless I am missing something basic.

Happy to get further direction.

Hi again !

 

Try to look for like File/App Manager app on your device. Should you find it:

 

  • Click on the "Memory Usage" button
  • Click on the three dots on the top right corner
  • At this point you have 2 options ...

- Turn off "Automatically clean up memory" globally, or

- Add your apps to the "Memory cleanup whitelist"

 

Or go to: Settings > Apps > File Manager > Permissions.

I cant find app or file manager on my tablet. How should i should the aggressivekilling of the background files

Try accessing your device's Settings > Apps then search for the app(s) that you want to "Force stop".

 

Force stopping an app(s) is recommended when trying to fix a misbehaving app or if the app(s) affects the device's overall performance.

 

Doing a force stop also means that the app will no longer be accessing any of its cache files, which also needs to be done.
