Dear Adriel_lenovo,

you are wrong about this one. The lenovo tab m10+ supports USB-C OTG (on the go) which makes it possible to connect a mouse, keyboard, hdmi screen to the USB port.

In order to do so, make sure that the cable or dongle supports OTG.

The datasheet, part about the keyboard and track pad, states that the device doesn't have a build-in keyboard and track pad.

On my lenovo tab m10+ I frequently use an older USB-C to USB-A OTG dongle, who was included with my Samsung s8.

Kind regards,

M. Duren.

Welcome to the Community Forums Sanderei!

Nice to have you here!

Just to ask:

  • Can you please provide us your tablet's machine type-model/MTM number for us to check its specifications?
  • What exactly happens when you try to connect an external keyboard to your Tab M10 device? Are you getting any on screen messages (errors)?

We'll be waiting for your response.

Thanks!

Hello again Sanderei!

Thanks for the response!

Upon checking on your device's specifications, the Tab M10 FHD Plus doesn't support external keyboards.

The USB Type-C 2.0 port is used only for charging and data transfer purposes.

Please see screenshots below.

You may check this link on your end to see its complete specifications.

Hope this helps out.

Thanks!

Hi

I also have a Lenovo TB-X606F and want to know if you can connect it to an external monitor via the USB C connection.

Thanks

I don't think otg necessarily means you can hook it up to a screen via a hdmi adapter like the Dex enabled s8 but in terms of peripherals such as keyboards and mice, then yes, that will work with most android devices if not all.

I 'm indeed not sure if the USB OTG standard includes the possibility to hook up external screens by HDMI or Lenovo included it themselves.

However, I'm using an "IT WORKS USB-C TO HDMI/USB-C ADAPT (€49,99)" dongle, and it is working fine on my Lenovo tab m10+ (2de gen.).

Thanks!

I probably need to buy another dongle then.

(For the ones that confuse with 2de, its second or 2nd 😉)
